Health & welfare management of the Equine Species in research and education

Research using equines can positively contribute to human and animal health. The use of animals from Equine species in scientific research and education is refined by good standards of health monitoring, husbandry, behavioral management, and good practices for care and use. Despite the development of simulating tools, the use of Equine herds is still necessary for the education of professionals (veterinarians, nurses…). An expert working group shall gather expertise of scientists and/or veterinarians who are familiar with the care and use of horses in research, education and the management of Equine herds in this particular context.
