Continuing education for persons involved in animal experiments

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a major challenge for laboratory animal scientists and institutions. 3R improvements develop fast nowadays and the modern scientist must be aware of latest developments, whether they concern animal care, experimental design or model refinements and alternatives. National regulations may specifically require a minimum CPD quota for a defined period of time to ensure scientists follow latest advances. The question of what constitutes a CPD and how this can be accounted for remain to be defined. This working group proposes a structure to endorse CPD activities and award credits.
